The Rugeley Depot
Welcome to the Rugeley depot page. The Rugeley operation has been broken up into 3 sections, CHASE EXPLORER, LICHFIELD CITI-CONNECT, and the buses that are not route branded for any services. The pictures on this page are of the Rugeley allocation of vehicles that are not branded up for any particular service.Rugeley depot still however does house all 3 sections of the network mentioned above.
No 47   73 LCR Mercedes-benz 0405n is the second example of the low floor type to enter the fleet. It was originally a demo vehicle R280SDT
N0 40 T401BBC Wright Crusader Volvo B6LE has been re-furbished in to a new brighter livery for the Rural Connect brand of services that operate tendered countryside services. Seen here just out of the paintshop 28-6-09
N0 3 S714UON is a second hand Volvo B6LE Wright Crusader. This has joined the fleet in part exchange for a newer Scania omni-city that was no longer needed in the fleet. This smaller size bus is more suited to the route is is operating.
No 54 BX57LRT, Scania wrights bus was one of a batch of 5 that arrived in September 2007
No 32 P950AMB Alexander PS Volvo B10m bus is now allocated as permenant driver training vehicle 28-6-09
No 69 R221SDT Scania 113 Wright Ultralow came to us in 2004 and has carried this all over advert since going in to service. This was a second hand purchase from a dealer.
No 1 SE56LRT is a Volvo B7RLE. Just this one was brought as a trial to compare with other chassis makes in the fleet, but no more of the Volvo versions have entered service here.
No 30 YR57CEN, is the old Plaxton Centro demonstrator from the works. This bus was purchased in October 2007 just as a body shell, and finally entered service during January 2008, where it now operates one of the workings on the busy 825 service.
No 20 AH53LRW Scania Omnicity has recently been re-furbished and presented in this nice silver all over advertising livery for a local Peugeot dealer, keeping the lower front panel in 2 tone green for identity reasons.
No 49 SN51LBP Scania L94UB Wright ultralow entered service in the spring of 2006. This bus carries full advertising for rolo's and stands out in the crowd in the bus station.
BT04LRT, Dennis dart mpd still carries all over advert for yorkshire tea & biscuits, but has now been re-numbered 12, previously being no 28.
No 36 BG07LRT Plaxton Primo was supplied by the county council for their rural connect brand services. This vehicle arrived in April 2007.
No 73 R57JNL is a low floor DAF SB220 Plaxton Prestige. This entered the fleet in the summer of 2007, and was purchased direct from the Viking Motors fleet.
No 7 H518OEH Leyland Olympian Alexander RL has been with the LRTravel fleet now for quite a number of years and has spent the last 3 years working out of the Uttoxeter depot on full time duties. Now she has taken a back seat and is back at Rugeley depot and is acting as a spare vehicle but still manages to get out and about quite often.
No 52 H810AGX is also an Alexander RL type Leyland Olympian. This one was purchased 2 years ago as it had been fully fitted out with 3 and 2 seating throughout most of the two decks and is a popular choice on the school private hire scene, as well as making it out on to stage carrige services aswell.
No 16 YJ57ENV was the 1st of 4 brand new enviro400 low floor double deckers to enter the fleet during the autumn of 2007, all four of the batch were delivered as twin door but were converted to single door in our workshops before entering service.
No 16 YJ57ENX is another alexander dennis enviro 400 purchased autumn 2007.
No 19 YJ57ENY is the final one of the four enviro 400's, this one can be seen wearing side route branding promotions. The fourth member of the batch can be found on the Chase Explorer page.
No 55 BX57LRU is another of the batch of 5 that was purchased in September 2007 for service re launches. This one is in just plain LRT livery not having gained any route branding so can be used to cover on any duty.
No48 N804GRV UVG bodied dennis dart in full livery. This bus is now used as one of the spare buses in the fleet.
No 19 YJ57ENY ALEXANDER DENNIS ENVIRO 400, is seen inside the garage over the pit having some routine maintanance carried out.
The latest purchase to enter the fleet is L100SBS, a Mercedes-benz 0405 Wright Cityranger. This vehicle has been painted in to full Stevensons livery to celebrate the 80th birthday of Stevensons which happened during 2007. She has also gained fleet number 100 in the LRT fleet, and is a much welcomed member to the fleet.
No 100 L100SBS the wright mercedes benz 0405 ciyranger which was painted in Stevensons livery for a time, but since having substained accident damage it has now been re sprayed in to two tone green and is now back as an active member of the fleet, it has also recently been kitted out with seatbelts so it can work on schools as well as stage carrige duties.
No 37 K473EDT Mercedes-benz 0405 Alexander cityranger about to make its exit from the depot for its 1st journey
Another view of 37 K473EDT, still awaiting fittment of its 3 pointed star mercedes badge on the front panel, This is the 3rd Mercedes 0405 cityranger in the fleet but this one having a rather rare one off Alexander body on.
No 42 N12NNL is the 2nd Alexander Ultra low floor Volvo aquired. This one has had both sides full panel overhall before being re-sprayed in to fleet colours. Seen in this shot, shes fresh out the paint shop awaiting fleetnames and numbers but has had a new digital destination blind fitted already.

No 73 R57JNL is recieving mechanical attention outside the workshops on the hywema jacks. Also looks like there is work goin on around the windscreen area too, but its all in a days work!!!
This view shows 2 buses in the workshops just infront of the paint shop. The bus closest to the camera has just recieved a new destination screen glass, looks like the fitters just nipped off to the chippy and left the ladder boards infront of the bus so it can be checked upon again later after the screen has set.
No 2 SN54FBS is a second hand purchased enviro 300. This replaces Scania omnicity MK06ZZP which was temporaily No 2, which has been returned back to EZBUS in Scotland after a loan period along with Scania Omnicity SC04MLO which was No 47. It seems as if this enviro 300 has been in the wars of the roads already as its sporting 3 new silver side panels. It will be expected to enter the paint shop as soon as possible to get it looking tidy in full livery once more.
No 41 V651MOA ia a Mercedes-Benz 0405n low floor city bus. This vehicle joined the LR fleet April 2009 and can be seen stood outside the workshops just before entering service.
